The summer transfer window has officially opened and while the main attention is on the World Cup, clubs are working away on major deals. For most clubs, planning will already be complete and they will have identified which players they want to sign, and which players they want to sell.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals this summer. The rumour mill is still gathering pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories – you can access the full rumour mill below.

Today’s biggest transfer stories
Tottenham are set to step up their pursuit of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton this summer. The 22-year-old, who has a market value of €70 million, has been linked with several of the Premier League’s Big Six. Spurs are in the market for a central midfielder and may be willing to stump up the cash to test Palace’s resolve.
Leeds are considering an audacious move to sign Julian Brandt on a free transfer, per The Yorkshire Evening Post. The 30-year-old is leaving Borussia Dortmund as a free agent after nine years with the Schwarzgelben, and Daniel Farke is keen to raid the Bundesliga again to strengthen his squad.
Managerless Fulham have seen a bid rejected for Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu. The 22-year-old has courted interest from several European clubs but the Cottagers have made their move, although the Turkish side want more than the €19.6 million offered.
