PSG and Bayern Munich produced one of the most entertaining games in Champions League history in the first leg of their semi-final. The French side clinched a one-goal advantage ahead of the second leg in Munich next week after a completely absorbing contest then ended 5-4. The captivating encounter resembled a basketball game with several of the best attacking talents in the world on display. It was the highest scoring semi-final in the history of the illustrious competition and it’s delicately poised ahead of the second leg.
It was also a landmark evening for Luis Enrique as he brought up his 50th win in the Champions League. The Spaniard has famously won the competition twice before and he’s unquestionably one of the best coaches in the world. The fastest managers to reach 50 Champions League wins
Enrique has lifted the famous trophy with Barcelona and PSG and he’s now the manager to reach 50 wins in the competition in the fewest games. The 55-year-old first managed in the Champions League with Barcelona in 2014 and he’s required just 77 games to reach the milestone – 24 wins with Barca and 26 with PSG.
As the graphic above illustrates, some iconic managers feature in the top ten list with Pep Guardiola ranks second, requiring 82 games. Another former Barcelona manager completes the top three in Louis van Gaal, who famously won the competition with Ajax in 1995. Jürgen Klopp, Sir Alex Ferguson and José Mourinho all feature in the top ten, which further highlights Enrique’s incredible feat.
