Jarrod Bowen once again established why he is serenaded by West Ham’s loyal fanbase after playing a massive role in their fight to avoid relegation on Saturday. Bowen has been ever-present for the Hammers this season with 34 Premier League appearances, with the only exception coming in their defeat to Chelsea where he played 81 minutes. At that stage, they were leading 2-1 and they ended up losing 3-2 without their captain. If that doesn’t underline his value, perhaps his statistics will.
Bowen has scored eight goals and provided 10 assists this season for the Hammers, meaning he has 18 goal contributions in total. As the graphic below demonstrates, that puts him only behind Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, Igor Thiago, Antoine Semenyo and João Pedro in the overall standings. His tally is the highest of any English player, which may convince Thomas Tuchel to consider taking him to the 2026 World Cup. With a market value of €35 million, he could prove to be a bargain signing for clubs ahead of next season.

Leading the fight against relegation
The 29-year-old is proving to be a clutch player this season. Incredibly, eight of his 10 assists have come in his last nine appearances, exhibiting how he has stepped up during a critical period for the club. He set up both goals in the 2-1 win over Everton, which helped maintain their two-point advantage of 18th-place Tottenham in the relegation stakes.
The next highest contributor, Crysencio Summerville, doesn’t even have half that tally, with eight goal contributions in total. His influence at West Ham is wholly appreciated by the supporters, who laud him as if he came through the club’s academy. That speaks to Bowen’s commitment and dedication to the cause. It would be devastating to all concerned if the Hammers plummeted into the Championship, and it might also give Bowen an incredibly difficult decision to make.
Which clubs could sign Jarrod Bowen?
The England international understandably wants to play at the highest level possible. Interest from fellow Premier League clubs would certainly materialise in the summer such is his consistent record of scoring – whether West Ham are relegated or not. Of course, the east London outfit would hold out for a significant fee if he decided to leave.
Liverpool are looking for a Mohamed Salah replacement and could do a lot worse than bringing in a plug-and-play replacement for a modest fee. Likewise, Tottenham and Newcastle may need to strengthen their frontlines after a season of underachievement. But dropping out of the Premier League would weaken their position at the negotiating table.
In the meantime, Bowen will be doing all he can to prevent that from happening in their final four games. And with one of the most lethal creators in the Premier League at their disposal, West Ham and Nuno Espirito Santo will feel they have a fighting chance.
