The January transfer window is now little more than a dot in the rearview mirror and as such European football has got back to the business of winning games and challenging for as much silverware and success as possible between now and the end of the season. However, as all football fans know, the rumour mill never truly sleeps and while the summer transfer window may be many months away, there are still plenty of top stories to dig into in the meantime.

Today’s biggest transfer stories

Liverpool will reportedly battle it out with Manchester United to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. The 22-year-old is expected to leave Selhurst Park with a number of clubs interested in the England international. However, the Eagles are said to be looking for offers in excess of €80 million.

David Alaba will leave Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer when his contract expires, per Fabrizio Romano. The 33-year-old will not have his deal renewed, leaving him open to heading back to the Bundesliga or the Premier League.

Arsenal are interested in England youth international Jeremy Monga, who is contracted to Championship side Leicester City. The Foxes could be relegated to League One next week, a scenario would surely see the 16-year-old sold in the summer.
