The Champions League final brought down the curtain on the 2025/26 season for clubs across all the major European leagues with attention turning to the World Cup. Supporters from all 48 nations have descended on the United States, Canada and Mexico for a true festival of football. After the World Cup final on July 19th, international football will diminish in importance and the focus will revert to clubs ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Last season, PSG regained their Champions League crown after defeating Arsenal on penalties but Mikel Arteta’s men still enjoyed a successful season by winning the Premier League. Barcelona won LaLiga, Inter Milan regained dominance in Italy and Bayern Munich were champions in Germany, once again. After all the top five leagues finished, Transfermarkt released their final market value updates of the season and we can now calculate which squads increased the most in valuation last season!

Which clubs gained the most market value across 2025/26?

We’ve analysed the data from July 2025 to July 2026 across all the top five leagues and PSG gained more market value than any club. The value of Luis Enrique’s squad soared by €220 million across the season and they are now the most valuable club in the world for the first time in their history. As the graphic below illustrates, Strasbourg ranks second after receiving an increase of €169m with Lens the other Ligue 1 club in the top 10.

Five Premier League clubs feature in the top ten with Sunderland ranked highest in fourth after an upgrade of €168m following their successful season after promotion. Roma are the highest ranked Serie A club at +€168m but there’s no Bundesliga or LaLiga clubs in the top ten.
