Premier League team leads the way

As we approach the end of the 2025/26 campaign, nerves are on the edge. One error could cost a whole season’s work and fine margins can decide the biggest titles in football. But for some teams, they have pulled out their most formidable form when it matters most and almost forgotten what it’s like to taste defeat. Here at Transfermarkt, we have compiled a list of the teams who are currently on the longest unbeaten streaks in Europe’s top five leagues (Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A). First place may come as a shock.
The longest unbeaten streaks in the top five leagues
Incredibly, leading the way is none other than south-coast Premier League outfit Bournemouth. Andoni Iraola’s team have gone on an incredible 16-game unbeaten run, which has seen them shoot up the table to sixth place. They last tasted league defeat in January in a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal. Bournemouth now not only have an extremely good chance of qualifying for Europe for the very first time, but a very realistic chance of even making it to next season’s Champions League. Manager Iraola has already announced his decision to leave the club in the summer. Perhaps, one he might now be starting to regret.
In second place, having gone 14 matches unbeaten in Germany are Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, who have only beaten once in the league this season: a 2-1 home defeat to Augsburg in January. Despite the title race now once again being out of their hands, Manchester City have gone 13 games unbeaten since losing the Manchester derby in January. Draws have been their kryptonite. Lille have also gone 13 games without defeat in Ligue 1. Recently crowned LaLiga champions Barcelona are 11 games unbeaten.

Juventus have certainly had their struggles this season, but are currently on a 10 game unbeaten streak in Serie A. Their rivals and this season’s champions Inter Milan are eight league games without defeat. As are Nottingham Forest, who confirmed their Premier League safety this weekend. Three teams then sit on a six-game unbeaten run: Leeds (who play Tottenham tonight), Augsburg and Real Betis.
