Episode three of Transfermarkt’s Market Values podcast is now out and covers the biggest stories in relation to the latest Bundesliga, Liga Portugal and Serie A market value updates, with insight from Transfermarkt experts in each of the three countries.
The Bundesliga update throws up one of the most talked-about storylines of the season, as Michael Olise overtakes Jamal Musiala to become the league’s most valuable player following 19 goal contributions since the last update. Tobias Kröger explains the reasoning behind the change, while Stefan Bienkowski and Manu Veth also discuss Luka Vuskovic’s remarkable season at HSV, and the rising Bayer Leverkusen duo of Ibrahim Maza and Christian Kofane, both of whom have been upgraded to €40m. In Portugal, Goncalo Tristao Santos breaks down a surprise wave of downgrades at the very top of the Liga Portugal standings, with Morten Hjulmand and Samu Aghehowa both dropping to €45m for very different reasons. The one bright spot is 17-year-old Porto winger Oskar Pietuszewski, whose market value has jumped from €12m to €20m after an outstanding second half of the season.
The episode rounds off in Italy, where Marius Soyke covers a packed Serie A update. Alessandro Bastoni drops from €80m to €70m as Inter navigate a transitional season, while Pio Esposito continues his rapid rise after earning a regular starting berth in the first team. There is mixed news for the US men’s national team ahead of a home World Cup, with Christian Pulisic’s market value falling to €50m following an injury-disrupted campaign at AC Milan, while Weston McKennie’s remarkable Juventus revival sees him climb from €22m to €30m. The episode closes with a deep dive into Como, whose squad value has increased by €107m this season, with Marius making the case that Cesc Fabregas’s side are one of the most exciting club projects in European football.
