We’re now three months into the new year, and while that may not seem like a lot of time, a whole lot of football has already been played. Indeed, the modern European calendar is truly relentless as the continent’s top divisions race towards their conclusions in parallel with the Champions League and Europa League. And all along the way, the sport’s best attacking players have been racking up the goals and assists with remarkable consistency.

Which players have the most goal contributions in 2026?

When we dive into Transfermarkt’s database to see which players have bagged the most goals and assists in the top five leagues and all cup competitions, it throws up some instantly familiar names alongside some surprise inclusions. As expected, Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane sits top of the list with 15 goals and two assists in just 12 games for the Bundesliga giants, averaging an incredible 1.42 goal contributions per game. As if to underline the club’s dominance of the German top-flight, Kane is flanked by Luis Díaz (16 goals and assists) and Michael Olise (14) in the top five.

Second place goes to another Bundesliga star but not one that plays in the red of Bayern. Instead, none other than former Brighton player Deniz Undav continues his impressive form at Stuttgart, matching Kane’s record in front of goal but having played an extra three games. Then, in what happens to be the only Premier League inclusion within the top 10, Chelsea star João Pedro sits fourth with 16 goal contributions in 15 games for the Stamford Bridge side. Which works out at 1.05 goals and assists per game.

The rest of the top 10 is made up of some notable names, such as Inter Milan star Federico Dimarco (14 goals and assists), Mason Greenwood (14) at Marseille and none other than Strasbourg talent Joaquín Panichelli on 13 goals and assists, which places him just below Barcelona pairing Lamine Yamal and Fermín López – who both sit on 14 goals and assists in 2026. Which means no other player in Spanish football has been more dynamic in front of goal than Yamal so far this year.

Indeed, that is clear for all to see when we look at the players on the periphery of the top 10. Real Madrid have no less than three players outside the top 10, with Vinicius Jr and Federico Valverde both sitting on 11 goals and assists this year, while Kylian Mbappé sits on 10, placing him just behind Atlético target man Alexander Sørloth. And rounding up the top 15 is none other than Manchester United No.10 Bruno Fernandes, who has enjoyed a fantastic return of 10 goals and assists in 10 games for the Old Trafford club.
