Benjamin Sesko continued his remarkable form in 2026 by being the matchwinner for Manchester United once again. The Slovakian striker stepped up from the bench to finish an excellent counterattacking move to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win over Everton to move into the top four in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has been restricted to a substitute role under Michael Carrick but he’s made several notable contributions from the bench.
Sesko has yet to start under Carrick in six games but he’s scored three decisive goals to earn praise from his interim boss. “I have got a really good relationship with Ben,” said Carrick after the Everton win. ‘He is in a really good place. He has taken some huge steps recently. The goals, the confidence, the belief he is playing with.” The towering striker endured a difficult start to his United career but he’s unquestionably finding his feet and we’ve analysed his hot streak this year.
Benjamin Sesko’s red hot form in 2026
Only five players have scored five or more goals in the Premier League in 2026. Four players have netted five times – Cole Palmer, Sesko, João Pedro and Viktor Gyökeres – with Igor Thiago scoring six. From those players, we’ve analysed their scoring rates in the Premier League this year and Benjamin Sesko is streets ahead. As the graphic below illustrates, Sesko is averaging 1.65 goals per 90 minutes in 2026 with five goals in 273 minutes.
Sesko has also scored decisive goals with a brace against Brighton, last minute equaliser against West Ham and late winners against Fulham and Everton. Joao Pedro has the second best scoring ratio of the aforementioned players at 0.86 goals per 90. Sesko is acclimatising to the demands of the Premier League, growing in confidence and he’s beginning to showcase why United spent €77 million to sign him from RB Leipzig.
