Manchester United have laid claim to be being the biggest club in the United Kingdom, after beating Liverpool in the Transfermarkt UK Club followers cup. We let football fans to have their say, as Transfermarkt released our very own UK club followers cup on Instagram. It began with the round of 32 last Wednesday. Included in the competition were the 20 Premier League clubs, the four clubs in the Scottish Premiership with the highest squad market value, and the eight clubs in the Championship with the highest squad market value. So if your club was not included, they need to get their values up!
The teams were then seeded based on their market values, with the most valuable squad (Manchester City: €1.29 billion) playing the least valuable (Hibernian: €20m) and so on and so forth. Over 10,000 followers voted on the final, which saw Man United run out comfortable winners over North-West rivals Liverpool. The Red Devils had conquered Arsenal in the semi-final, whilst Liverpool had beaten Manchester City. The full tournament bracket can be seen below.

The tightest game of the entire tournament took place in the round of 16, the tightest with Aston Villa beating Tottenham by just 30 votes. The Scottish team to go furthest were Celtic, who were beaten by Newcastle in the round of 16, whilst all eight Championship clubs crashed out in the opening round.
