Arsenal have one foot in the EFL Cup final after a 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge in the first-leg of the semi-final. Chelsea were missing several key players for new manager Liam Rosenior’s first home game in charge, and the Gunners made them pay. Striker Viktor Gyökeres got a much needed goal after suffering a goal drought of late, whilst midfielder Martín Zubimendi scored a fine strike, but also on the scoresheet was defender Ben White. A brace from the bench from Chelsea substitute Alejandro Garnacho gives the Blues hope of a turn around at the Emirates in the second leg.

The 28-year-old’s first goal of the season means Mikel Arteta’s team have now had as many as 16 different goalscorers in all competitions this season. More than any other Premier League team. The Gunners haven’t had one outstanding goalscorer this season – there top scorer in all competitions is winger Gabriel Martinelli with nine. But sharing the goals out makes no player indispensable. So who are the 16 players in Arsenal’s army of scorers?
All 16 goalscorers for Arsenal this season
As aforementioned, Martinelli is Arsenal’s tops corer with nine goals. He is now followed by Gyökeres with eight, and then Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka, who each have seven. Eberechi Eze and Mikel Merino both have scored five, with midfielders Zubimendi and Declan Rice and defender Gabriel each having scored four. Full-back Jurriën Timber and winger Noni Madueke have both scored three for the Gunners this term.

There are now five players with a solitary goal for Arsenal this season. White has joined fellow defender Riccardo Calafiori, who scored on the opening day of the season, Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Jesus and club captain Martin Ødegaard on one goal for thew campaign. When we consider that striker, Kai Havertz has only just returned from injury, and defender William Saliba is yet to notch this term, this list could still grow further. Much has been made of Arsenal’s squad depth and right now, it’s what could be leading them to trophies.
